About Me

Hello I'm Aaryn, a 24 year old reptile and aquarium enthusiast who turned my hobby into a business: The Frog House in 2021.

The Frog House really started when I was 9 years old during the '08 recession. My area was especially affected and many animal owners had to give up their pets to make ends meet. Working alongside Lollypop Farm Humane Society, over the following years my family took in dozens of reptiles, fish, birds and rodents to rehabilitate and find permanent homes. We named our mini rehab "The Frog House on the Ridge". I decided to name my business after that to pay homage to what started it all.

As the economy and pet industry recovered, there was less of a need for us to rehab more animals. The zoo became less and less crowded, but my passion for animals never dwindled.

I later went to college in 2017 at the University at Buffalo for a BS in Biology, with a focus on Ecology and Microbiology. I graduated in 2020 and found myself working as a microbiology technician for a large pharmaceutical company. Meanwhile I was living at home with my mom and brothers and slowly building this business in my free time. I didnt start with the intent of running a business, but it slowly developed into one over time. I sold excess feeder insects from my colonies that my reptiles couldn't eat and found small niches for products I could make at home. Before I knew it, it was the summer of 2022 and I was struggling to manage a fulltime job and my side gig. I did what any logical person would do, quit my secure career and went all in on my dream while I had the opportunity in my lap.
